Favorite SGGL Song: Back of My Heart; Maureen
Favorite SGGL Album: SG&G, but none come close to a live show!!!
Poll response: Prefer live recordings
Became a fan:First saw them in 1984 at R-MWC, where I spent a LOT of time while at Hampden-Sydney. I moved to Charlottesville in 1985, and saw more shows than I can remember at The Mineshaft, The Coffee Pot in Roanoke, the Dell at R-MWC, and places in Richmond that I either can't remember or no longer exist (what was that place over the adult bookstore on Broad Street across from the new Seigel Center at VCU???). Many great memories of my younger days revolve around this band.
Comments:Still enjoy the shows whenever I get a chance, especially in Richmond (possibility of playing Friday Cheers or Innsbrook?). Neighbors at good old Varsity Park Apts. with Mike Goggin his last year of Law School. Still see Rusty every now and then around the Corner in C-ville. Vivid memories of rockin' the rafters at the Coffee Pot, how damn hot it was at the "farewell" concert, having them play at the KA house during Greek Week, and the faces of all my friends, both old and new, as we kicked back, drank a cold one, and listened to some great music.

Comments:We just wanted to say "hi" to the band and let them know we are now living in Dallas, Texas. If any of the band members see this, drop us an E-Mail. This brings back some GREAT memories.

Comments:My huband was in the military, and for the first 8 years of our marriage we moved countless times. During one move all of my tapes from college were lost, including my SGG and SGL music. I have been searching for a store that carries their music, but have not had luck. I would love to know if there is someplace I can order their CD's from.

Became a fan:I used to go to their shows at the Mineshaft in C'ville when I was in college at UVA. They were great then and they are still terrific today!! Mike Lilly is a good addition to the group and an excellent musician. I was in the audience at the amphitheatre at UVA when they recorded parts of their first album. I remember listening to them at country parties, at Easters, and on the lawn. Good times.
Comments:I attended a show at the Mineshaft for my 22nd birthday, just before I graduated. This was right around the time that their first album came out. My friend bought me the album and we had the band members all autograph it. I was thrilled that they had made a recording so I could continue to hear their music even after I left school. It was wonderful when I discovered a few years later that they were still together and still performing in No. Virginia. You guys are GREAT!!

I live in FL now, so obviously I haven't seen them in a few years. Going through some old college stuff tonight, I came across an old SGGL tape and it brought back some great memories! Became a fan:Sweet Briar, 1984 - 88.Yes, I was one of those goofballs up on the tables in the Bistro with Staci, Kate, Katrina and Cindy.
Comments:I still love to see you all live when I can, and have introduced many people to your music in Arlington, VA where I live now but your cd's travel all over the country with me! Funniest sggl memory: last summer I was in Georgia visiting an SBC friend and while doing dishes we cranked up the stereo and sang at the top of our lungs while we cleaned up (we were swinging dishrags around!) after a dinner party. Her husband thought we were nuts, but we knew he just felt bad because he didn't know the words.
