Favorite SGGL Song: Baby Your Love Keeps Me Hangin' On
Favorite SGGL Album: Headin' South or Just For You

Became a fan:Got to know Tom when I was a student at Virginia Episcopal School and he was a teacher. Saw the guys play numerous times there, and later when I was in grad school at UVA.

Comments:Not only are the guys tremendous musicians, they are tremendous people! I look forward to hearing them for the first time in a long time back home at the Birchmere in May 2003.

Became a fan:I became a fan in the early '80's when I was a bartender at Phillip's in Norfolk, Virginia. I check the guestbook and sign in every year or so to try and touch base with old friends who were united in their love of the music, the concerts on the deck, and hanging out and so on...

Comments:Hey Guys, I went to a Phillip's reunion last year in Ocean City, Maryland and got to re-visit some old names: Toby (John) and Dawn Townsend, Larry and Sandy McAllister, Tim Shaw, George Kershner. Had a great time reminiscing. Hope all is well.

Favorite SGGL Song: almost all of them
Favorite SGGL Album: tie: Headin' South & Just for You

Became a fan:I can't every remember not knowing about SGGL. Their music has always been playing in my household--maybe because my uncle is the "L" is the band

Comments:SGGL's music is really timeless. At 16 I'm still just as in love with the same songs I use to listen to at 5. Their true talent shines in their ability to harmonize and blend together dispite the seperate directions in life they each take. Going to their concerts up in Washington D.C. is one of a few times in my life that I'm able just to sit back and become totally absored in something and wish it would last forever!

Favorite SGGL Album: Headin' South

Became a fan:1983...at Pavilion XI

Comments:Wow, Kevin and Julie, this website is awesome. Of course, I had no idea or else I would have visited sooner. Thanks for all you do for the band! And I'd like to thank my buddy Rob Seals for having this link on HIS website (www.robseals.com)...otherwise, I may not have ever found it! Hope to see some old friends at the gigs in the fall...so happy that Tom and his family are now living in Charlottesville again!! Yippee!

Favorite SGGL Song: Red Dress
Favorite SGGL Album: Heading South

Became a fan:I became a fan in the early 1980s at college where some sorority sisters dragged me to Pav XI to see Mike Goggin, and then other early SGG performances. Quickly, I became the one dragging my friends to the band. Their songs still transport me to early days and earlier venues. A parent now, I play some songs for my daughter!

Comments:Red Dress is an easy favorite song to select, but I have memorable runners-up, like Baby You Just Keep me Hanging On. For the fun quotient, I love The Dog Song and Dream on. For the live performances, you can't beat Under the Boardwalk and Mack the Knife. Great stuff and great times!
